Meet Flopsy

This crazy girl came to me in February 2021 after she was purchased as a puppy during the "everyone is getting a dog phase" of 2020. Apparently whoever brought her home never googled the requirements of owning a dog, let alone a goldendoodle. She was kept in a garage with zero training, grooming or medical care. Luckily, when she went into heat that was the last straw and this human dropped her off at the rescue I happened to volunteer for at the time.

Charlie, my soul dog, liked order and structure. I never even considered getting another dog because I assumed he would not enjoy them or the disruption to his schedule. However, for years I would say "I would only get another dog if a doodle needed adopting." Then my phone rang "Dr. Regner, did you mean what you said about only getting another dog if a doodle needed adopting?"

"I am on my way."

This girl was a mess but home with me she went to live her best life and play a role I didn't know I was going to need.

Charlie took to Flopsy once we all got acclimated and had that older brother/younger sister relationship.

The three of us moved to Clearwater, Florida and start the next chapter of life.

I always joke that Flopsy is like the scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz "if I only had a brain." She has the biggest heart and I think a second one where her brain should be. She is all love, all the time.

When Charlie left me to go run my VIP club at rainbow bridge my world came crashing down and I was in a really bad place. He was my everything, my lifeline, a part of me. Flopsy used those two hearts of hers to be there for anything and everything I needed or didn't know I needed. If I wanted to walk 25 miles, she was game. If I wanted to sleep for 25 hours, say less.
